ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
According to the Catalan club must generate funds through player sales to realise their ambition of signing both Williams and Olmo in the same window, with Raphinha's departure seeming the most probable. The Brazilian could lose his starting position if any of the two players join the club and has hence emerged as a prime candidate for transfer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Initially, Barcelona sought €90 million (£76m/$98m) for Raphinha, who attracted interest from Saudi Arabia. However, recent reports indicate his asking price has dropped to €50 million (£42.16m/$54.46m), a figure which is lower than the €65 million (£55m/$71m) that the Blaugrans paid to Leeds United in 2022.

DID YOU KNOW?
There have been reports which claim that Raphinha would consider a return to the Premier League, where he previously excelled with Leeds United in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. The winger wants regular first-team action which might not be possible to achieve if the transfers go through, prompting his interest in a move back to England.

WHAT NEXT?
Several Premier League clubs are reportedly monitoring Raphinha's situation, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. These clubs expressed interest when he left Leeds in the summer of 2022. Additionally, Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Manchester United are also potential destinations as they are willing to offer around €50 million for the Brazilian winger.
